Nanhai Song: A Poetic Dining Space Inspired by Nature

Transforming Forms into Meanings

With its superior location and geographical environment, Nanhai Song captures the essence of the sea and mountains. The front hall features layers of stones that outline the shape of mountains and sea, while two symmetrical table lamps resemble lighthouses, emitting an intimate sense of belonging. These design elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also create a connection between people and the poetic essence of the space.

What sets Nanhai Song apart is its ability to transform forms into meanings. By incorporating the shapes found in nature, the designer has created a space that goes beyond mere aesthetics. The interior style is infused with a poetic design language, allowing the authentic nature of the space to shine through. Each room is named after allusions, adding a touch of cultural significance to the overall design.

The Executive Lounge, centered around a water bar, showcases the designer's attention to detail. Layers of textures extend from the ceiling to the wall, creating a sense of sequential aesthetics. Hidden light strips add a gentle and inviting ambiance to the room, further enhancing the overall experience.

Spanning an area of 1200 square meters, Nanhai Song is a testament to the designer's vision and technical prowess. The meticulous research and creative challenges overcome during the design process have resulted in a space that seamlessly blends natural scenery, poetic aesthetics, and cultural elements.

Each private dining room within Nanhai Song follows a consistent spatial composition while incorporating unique design languages in terms of soft furnishings. This harmonious blend of elements creates an inviting and immersive dining experience, where guests can share stories and enjoy the beauty of nature and art.

Located in Shenzhen, China, the Nanhai Song project began in March 2021 and was completed in November 2021. Throughout the design process, the designer drew inspiration from the sea, exploring its legends and the human desire to explore and connect with it. The result is a space that not only tells wonderful stories but also invites guests to embark on their own sea voyage of discovery.

Nanhai Song has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This prestigious award acknowledges the incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.

With Nanhai Song, Qinjian Wang has successfully captured the beauty of nature and translated it into a poetic dining space. The design reflects the endless waves, majestic mountains, and the glorious sun and moon, composing a poetry of all beings. Through its elegant Oriental design language, Nanhai Song invites deep contemplation and spiritual freedom, offering a truly unique dining experience.
